The PBAP is proud to share that we raised over $40,000 in scholarship money for Midland College, Odessa College, and UT Permian Basin students, community improvement initiatives, and law enforcement and first responders support.

A special thanks to our Roping Committee led by Chryl Larabee, Raymond Roberts, Beth Phillips, Hillarie Budd, Emilee Larabee, Mike “Catfish” Phillips, and Samantha Rabas. Additional Volunteers on Saturday made it happen: Annie Little, David Flores, Matt Campbell, Ryan Logsdon and Morgan Larabee.

Our Grand Champion sponsors helped us award over $30,000 in prizes – Saulsbury, Vaquero Midstream, WHC Services, Global Pipeline, Blanchette Field Services, Lonestar Pipeline Contractors and Driven Services.  As last year, the Andrews County Exposition Arena was a perfect venue for this event.  The facility was setup properly, groomed and maintained throughout the day by a very professional staff – thanks Lex!

Lunch was provided by TRC Construction and Lonestar PLC, with proceeds benefitting our fundraising efforts.

    What a great success!

PBAP members and guests raised over $54,000 in scholarship and community improvement funds at our 1st Annual PBAP Golf Tournament on Tuesday Sep 10, at Ranchland Hills Golf Club in Midland. The Association is thankful for the many volunteers who organized and contributed to a successful tournament! The weather held, as winds and overcast skies kept the participants cool and the competition challenging. Our title sponsor, PCM, and Adam Perkins led the tournament committee, with goodie bag sponsor DEAN, and photographer/golf ball shot sponsor S&B Drilling rounding out our top 3 sponsorships. Our Gold Sponsors included WHC Energy Services, QP Energy, DNOW, Saulsbury, Quanta Services, R Construction, and LJA Surveying, Industrial Fab-Rockguard. Finally, Ranchland Hills’ Jeremy Langdale and John Bizik supported us very well, and made this event memorable.

Thanks to all who made our first annual golf tourney a huge success!

    Jason Wolf, President

Since we began in June 2018, the PBAP has moved quickly in developing our organization into a strong and vibrant non-profit group dedicated to our industry and community.  Our combined membership and sponsors have exceeded our goal of 200 and continues to grow. We anticipate providing between $60-$80K in scholarships to local students and members’ children in 2019.  We have established our Scholarship, Team Roping Event, Clay Shoot, and Safety Committees, with more committees forming.

As founding Members, Officers and Sponsors, we share a great accomplishment in getting the PBAP up and running over the past 6 months.  However, we all recognize there are many other moving parts that have to get started and organizational structures that need to be implemented.

Our Officers and the Board of Directors are currently working to develop the new committees, future speakers, and events.  We are welcoming Texas RRC Commissioner Wayne Christian at our February 13 meeting, Oil and Gas Journal Editor Chris Smith to our March 13 meeting, and are planning our Clay Shoot on April 25 in Midland at Jake’s Clays.  We’re also working with Private, Public and Government entities to further the outreach of the Permian Basin Association of Pipeliners.

I am so proud to have joined each of you as a Founding Member and Sponsor of this great organization.  I am especially thankful to have served as the Founding President alongside this incredible group of current and incoming Officers.
